Slow or Poor signal (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth)

This guide was designed to troubleshoot the following issues:

  • Unexpected slow-down of Wi-Fi speeds
  • Intermittent Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth connectivity
  • Bluetooth device pairing difficulty
  • Poor Wi-Fi signal strength while within range of router

For best results, we recommend following these steps in order until your issue is resolved.

Step 1: Connect the Antennas

Experiencing poor Wi-Fi signal right out of the box? A common mishap is failing to install your Wi-Fi antenna(s) when setting up your PC. Tightly screw the antenna(s) to the rear of the system. (See image below for example. Yours may differ in appearance)

Step 2: Network Reset via Windows System Settings

1. Type Network reset in the Windows Search bar to find this option. Click on it.

3. Once Command Prompt has opened, enter the following commands one at a time, letting each one finish prior to proceeding.

  1. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter. Wait for completion.
  2. Type ipconfig /release and press Enter. Wait for completion.
  3. Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter. Wait for completion.
  4. Restart the system

Step 4: Reinstall Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth Drivers

To locate the drivers, visit the motherboard manufacturer's website and search for your exact motherboard. Under the Support banner, identify the Drivers & Downloads (label will vary).

  • Once you've located the Drivers & Downloads, find your network drivers, they will be labeled. (Wireless, LAN, Network, etc..)

Example:

  • Open the folder containing the newly downloaded drivers. Right-click on the .zip folder and click Extract All.

  • Select the folder that you would like to extract the files, check the "Show extracted files when completed" box and then click Extract.

  • Run the respective setup application. Follow the prompts to complete installation.
