How to set recommended fan curves (MSI)

How to enter the BIOS and set fan curves

  1. Restart your computer and repeatedly press the Delete key as it boots to enter the BIOS.
  2. Select HARDWARE MONITOR on the right side of the screen.

  3. To set the curve select the fan (CPU 1, Chassis 1, System 1, etc...), click on the temperature number/percentage.
  4. Enter the values shown below. Please be sure to press Enter after inputting each value as it will not save otherwise.

    Example of CPU 1 configuration
CPU 1
Fan Control: PWM

Fan Step Up: 0.7 seconds

Fan Step Down: 0.2 seconds

Point 1 Temp: 30°C

Point 1 %: 25%

Point 2 Temp: 50°C

Point 2 %: 50%

Point 3 Temp: 70°C

Point 3 %: 65%

Point 4 Temp: 90°C

Point 4 %: 100%
Do not change any other settings

PUMP 1
Use these settings for AiO cooled Systems
Pump Control: Auto/PWM

Point 1 Temp: 30°C

Point 1 %: 25%

Point 2 Temp: 50°C

Point 2 %: 50%

Point 3 Temp: 70°C

Point 3 %: 80%

Point 4 Temp: 90°C

Point 4 %: 100%
Do not change any other settings





Use these settings for APEX (open loop) Systems
Point 1 Temp: 30°C

Point 1 %: 65%
Point 2 Temp: 50°C

Point 2 %: 65%

Point 3 Temp: 70°C

Point 3 %: 80%

Point 4 Temp: 90°C

Point 4 %: 100%
Do not change any other settings

All System Fans
Fan Control: Auto/PWM

Fan Step Up: 0.7 seconds

Fan Step Down: 0.2 seconds

Point 1 Temp: 30°C

Point 1 %: 25% (Adjust this to 35% if your fans are Phanteks fans or not spinning periodically)
Point 2 Temp: 50°C

Point 2 %: 30% (Set to 40% if phanteks)

Point 3 Temp: 70°C

Point 3 %: 40% (Set to 50% if phanteks)

Point 4 Temp: 80°C

Point 4 %: 50% (Set to 60% if phanteks)
Do not change any other settings

Once you have set your fan curves, make sure to press F10 to save your settings and exit out of the BIOS.
