MAINGEAR shroud Edition & shroud Signature Edition - Internal Screen Setup Guide
The internal screen in your shroud Edition or shroud Signature Edition PC functions like a typical external display, but inside your PC! The internal screen come pre-installed and set up as secondary display in the Windows display settings in portrait (or portrait flipped) mode with its own stock wallpaper.
Please note that if no other displays are plugged into the PC when you turn it on, the internal screen will act as the main display, causing the display to not properly orient itself correctly in Windows as the secondary display.
If you're having any trouble setting up your displays, please follow the instructions below:
- Ensure that all of your displays, including the internal screen, are plugged into your PC and are also plugged into power,
- Your main display needs to be connected to a power outlet as well as to your PC through the graphics card HDMI or DisplayPort port.
- The internal screen needs to be connected to your PC via the motherboard I/O with the included USB-C cable (some internal screen models may need an extra USB-A cable for power)
- If all else fails, ensure the internal display is turned on by pressing its power button (it is turned on by default)
- After turning your PC on and logging into Windows, right-click anywhere on the desktop screen, then click Display settings:
- Once in Display settings, click Identify to check what number Windows has assigned to your main display. It will most likely be "1". If your main display is not set as the Windows main display (Display 1), click Make this my main display, then click Apply.
- This will ensure that programs and games are opened in the correct display:
While in Display settings, ensure that the internal screen, most likely Windows display number "2", is set to the correct resolution and orientation:
Resolution: 720 x1920
Orientation: Portrait or Portrait (flipped)
- If the stock wallpapers are incorrect, you can reset them by going to Settings -> Personalization -> Background. Once in Background and under Picture mode, hover over the desired wallpaper, right click on it, then click on "2" to set the wallpaper for the internal screen, or "1" to set the wallpaper for the main display:
After changing these settings, both the internal screen and your main display should now be set up correctly :)
Lastly, be sure to check the refresh rate of your main display and set it to the maximum refresh rate for the best gaming performance. To do this go to Settings -> System -> Display settings and then Advanced display and you're ready to game!
