How to install a new HDD/SSD in my MG-1

This is a quick instructional guide to help you install new drives for your MG-1 computer.


Remove the solid side panel on the right-hand side of the chassis. You will see the SSD trays (red) and the HDD bay (blue).

*-*The HDD Bay will not have been included unless requested*-*

SSD

  1. Unscrew one of them and it will de-attach from the case.
  2. You will notice 4 screws holes on it, you can use 4 screws to mount your 2.5-inch SSD.

HDD

  1. On the HDD bay you will notice 2 protruding flaps, squeeze those together and pull the tray out. 
  2. You will notice 4 screws holes on it, you can use 4 screws to mount your 3.5-inch HDD to it.

Plug in a power SATA cable into your HDD/SSD, then plug a data SATA cable into your HDD/SSD.

Next, remove the glass side panel (2 thumbscrews on the back) and plug in the data SATA cable to your motherboard. (motherboard model will vary)​​

*-*Due to the size of modern video cards. Most of the time the SATA connections will be behind the card*-*

New drives need to be formatted. Please see the article below.
