How to Enter BIOS on a Desktop PC
There are a few ways to access your system’s BIOS depending on your current setup. Follow the steps below to enter the BIOS using different methods.
Method 1: Entering BIOS by Pressing the Delete Key
- Restart or power on your system.
- As soon as the MAINGEAR or motherboard logo appears, repeatedly press the Delete key on your keyboard.
- This will take you directly into the BIOS.
Method 2: Accessing BIOS via Windows Recovery Environment
- Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard.
- While holding Shift, click Restart from the Windows Start menu.
- Your PC will reboot into the Windows Recovery Environment.
- Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > UEFI Firmware Settings.
- Select Restart. Your system will then boot into the BIOS.
Method 3: Entering BIOS via Command Prompt
- Open Windows Search and type cmd.
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
- In the Command Prompt window, type the following command exactly as shown below:
shutdown /r /fw /t 0
- Press Enter. Your PC will restart and automatically boot into the BIOS.
